Guilty Pleasure

Shiny, sharp-edged, expensive chocolate:
72 % cacao, raspberry-filled.
Manufacturer's regal stamp
Precisely impressed into smooth dark square;
(I can feel the impression on my tongue).
In my hand: not a trace.
In my mouth: a 6-minute silky melt.
All better.

This sent me running to the pantry looking for chocolate, although your poem has far less calories. Wonderful description, invoked all the senses.

Thanks, Cecilia, glad you liked the poem.

Where's the guilt? Envy yes but guilt no...

Amen to that -- no guilt! :D Thanks for commenting, Mary and bouguloo.

Judith, I bet there's no trace left on your hands because you lick them all. And mine would probably last less than 6 minutes in my mouth...lol. It wouldn't take me long to finish a bar of chocolate. It's been fun reading yours and others about chocolate. Thanks for reading mine too. Have a wonderful weekend.
